Hastelloy bolts are made from an alloy of nickel, molybdenum, and chromium. Additional elements may include iron and cobalt, all of which help to create a stronger material that has greater corrosion resistance than traditional stainless steel. The combination of these elements and their properties make Hastelloy bolts able to endure extremely corrosive conditions, such as those caused by oxidizing agents, acids, or extreme temperatures. From a mechanical point of view, Hastelloy bolts provide tremendous tensile strength, high levels of creep resistance, and resistance to fatigue when used under extreme stress or temperature conditions. Even when subjected to increased temperatures, it has sufficient toughness and stability to withstand large amounts of stress during critical operations.
