What is Hastelloy C22 Washers?
A nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with tungsten additions is used to make Hastelloy C22 washers, which offer remarkable resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions. Their typical composition includes about 56% nickel, 20–22.5% chromium, 12.5–14.5% molybdenum, 2.5–3.5% tungsten, along with small amounts of iron, cobalt, manganese, and silicon. This balanced chemistry offers superior protection against pitting, crevice corrosion, and oxidizing or reducing media. Mechanically, Hastelloy C22 washers provide tensile strength around 690–760 MPa, yield strength near 280–300 MPa, excellent ductility with 45–55% elongation, and outstanding toughness for demanding applications.
