The Incoloy 800, 800H, and 800HT grades are all nickel-iron-chromium-based alloys, with additional controlled amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, and copper, to achieve the best possible mechanical properties (e.g., tensile strength) and corrosion resistance. The Incoloy 800 contains approximately 30–35% nickel, 19–23% Cr, and 45–33% Fe, with very low amounts of carbon. The Incoloys 800H and 800HT have higher levels of carbon content than the Incoloy 800 so that they can withstand higher temperatures without losing their strength due to creep or stress rupture. The Incoloy washers provide a combination of higher tensile and yield strengths, as well as good ductility, due to their ability to retain their mechanical strength when exposed to elevated temperatures for long periods of time. Due to their resistance to oxidation and carburization, as well as thermal fatigue, this makes the Incoloy washers a suitable material for a wide variety of chemical, petrochemical, and industrial high-temperature applications.
