Home > Stainless Steel 446 Fasteners
Stainless Steel 446 Fasteners are top-notch fastening components crafted from ferritic stainless steel, specifically engineered to handle incredibly high temperatures and harsh environments. They’re celebrated for their outstanding resistance to oxidation and scaling, ensuring they keep their structural integrity even in situations that exceed 1100°C. These fasteners excel in sulfurous, chlorinated, and oxidizing atmospheres, making them perfect for thermal processing systems. With their reliable strength, durability, and long lifespan in tough industrial settings, SS 446 Fasteners are the go-to choice for furnace components, heat exchangers, and high-temperature engineering applications where regular stainless steel fasteners might not cut it.
Made primarily with a high Chromium content (23–27%) along with Manganese, Silicon, Carbon, and minimal Nickel, the chemistry of SS 446 provides remarkable resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and scaling at elevated temperatures. On the mechanical side, SS 446 boasts good tensile strength, high thermal stability, and enhanced structural integrity during thermal cycling. It has a tensile strength of about 485 MPa and a yield strength of roughly 275 MPa. These fasteners also show impressive creep resistance, maintaining their reliability under heavy mechanical loads and varying temperature conditions.
