Stud bolts that conform to ASTM A453 Class D (660) are made with a high-strength alloy based on austenitic precipitation-hardened materials (like A-286). The chemical makeup of these products is similar; they have 24%-27% Nickel, 13.5%-16% Chromium, 1%-1.5% Molybdenum, 1.9%-2.35% Titanium, and smaller amounts of Vanadium and Boron, with Iron as the main element. The nickel, chromium, molybdenum, titanium, and other alloying elements allow for exceptional high temperature, strength and corrosion resistance. The mechanical properties of these stud bolts include a minimum of 720 MPa (106 ksi) for tensile strength and 585 MPa (85 ksi) for yield strength and also good ductility with an elongation of 18%, as well as outstanding creep resistance, enabling reliable service life even in extreme conditions.
