What is ASTM A 453 GR 660 Class B Bolts?
ASTM A453 GR 660 Class B Bolts are precipitation-hardening austenitic stainless steels. A typical composition of Class B Bolts consists of; Chromium 24-27%, Nickel 8-11%, Titanium 1.5-2.5%, Carbon Less than or equal to 0.10%, Manganese Less than or equal to 1.50%, Silicon Less than or equal to 1.00%, Phosphorus Less than or equal to 0.040%, Sulfur Less than or equal to 0.030%. Mechanically, they are solution-treated and aged (hardness is achieved through aging). The minimum tensile strength is 115 ksi (795 MPa), with a yield strength of 80 ksi (550 MPa). Class B Bolts have an extraordinary ability to resist creep and oxidation and can maintain their strength for many years of use under extreme temperature and stress conditions.
