Austenitic stainless steel, which is mostly made of iron with chromium (18–20%), nickel (8–11%), molybdenum (2–3%), carbon (≤0.08%), manganese (≤2%), phosphorus (≤0.045%), and sulfur (≤0.03%), is used to make ASTM A193 B8M stud bolts. This composition offers high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in acidic and marine environments. The mechanical characteristics include a minimum elongation of 40%, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of 515 MPa.
