Brass composition 90/10 consists mainly of about 90% copper with approximately 10% nickel supplemented by additives such as Iron and Manganese in small amounts to improve tensile strength and corrosion resistance. The ability of the 90/10 nickel copper alloy to resist seawater, organism growth (biofouling), and stress cracking exhibit its usefulness in the marine/oceanographic and offshore industries.
