Hastelloy C276 stud bolts use a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with added tungsten and very low carbon, giving exceptional corrosion resistance. Typical composition includes high nickel (~57%), molybdenum (~16%), chromium (~15%), plus small amounts of iron, cobalt, manganese, and silicon. Mechanical properties include tensile strength around 690 MPa, yield strength near 283 MPa, and excellent ductility with roughly 40% elongation. These studs remain stable at elevated temperatures, resist pitting and stress-corrosion cracking, and ensure reliable performance in aggressive chemical, petrochemical, and marine environments.
